Well, I guess most of us can’t seem to turn off the news these days! I’ve a habit of going straight to the news channel every time! I’m really trying to stop watching so much news and instead watch something comforting on the TV but it’s tough because I feel I need to know whussup on this RONA ya know? These crazy unprecedented times! Have you gotten tired of hearing those 2 words yet? I know I have! If I still drank, that would make one heck of a drinking game huh? Turn on the news and take a drink every time you hear those words. I’m pretty sure it wouldn’t take too long to get to .10 on the BAC scale. So, I’ve been saying those words a lot lately just for fun. When talking to anyone about what this world is going through lately, or speaking with a customer service representative from “Amazon” because I haven’t received my package yet after 2 weeks, I make sure to say, “I understand these are unprecedented times, but...” Anyway, during these UNPRECEDENTED TIMES, I’ve been watching countless TV shows and movies on just about every streaming service available, which I’m sure you have too during these _______ _____. (fill in the blanks) With all these free trials, it’s so great to have so many options! And if you’re like me, and you have many emails and payment methods, you can just about stretch the free trials up to 6 months! SCORE! So, I thought I’d talk about viewing habits and favorite shows. The TV shows that are comforting and take your mind off all the craziness of the world. So, do you ”binge watch“? I’ve binged a few shows the past few years. You’ll notice the title of todays blog includes the word “bingeing” which doesn’t look right. So, I “googled” it. Turns out you can spell it 2 ways. “BINGING” or “BINGEING”. Both are acceptable according to the source I found.

First I tried “binging”. That looked like I was internet searching. Although I don’t think I’ve ever used the “Bing”. Are you a “Binger”? Anyway, “bingeing” it is. So, the first TV show I binged was “The Office“ on Netflix. I never watched it while it was on during it‘s 9 year run, but watched the entire series in about 4 days a couple years ago. So far I’ve binged it about 3 MORE times! I must say it’s one of my faves. And I’m SO glad Netflix has the “skip intro” feature. You can only hear that theme song so many times before going crazy. It’s one of the shows’ either you love or hate. If you don’t like it I’m pretty sure we could never date. Just sayin’. Same goes for my next 2 choices. Next up, FRASIER. Now, I‘ve watched that show even when it was originally run on NBC. Maybe it was because Frasier had his own radio show at the same time I did. I’d watch anything having to do with a radio or TV station. Very relatable to me I reckon. (I used the word “reckon” as an homage to my home state, Indiana. Which reminds me, I need to warsh my clothes tonight.) Anyway, today as I watch it on Hulu, it always brings me back to a good time, a comforting feeling. That feeling you get when you think nothing can bother you or “get to you“, right? Like that feeling on Christmas Day when you‘re late on your rent or your car payment but you don’t care because it’s friggin’ CHRISTMAS! Who’s gonna bother you on CHRISTMAS?! But I think you know what I mean. Ahh, “comfort television”! Even the Frasier theme song doesnt bother me too much. It’s catchy, plus short. Much like myself. So Frasier is what I’ve been watching this week. My 3rd fave to binge is SEINFELD! Yep, watched that show while it ran on NBC too. I was pretty disappointed when it ended though. And the series finale in 1998 made my head hurt. Seriously, for like a week! I didn’t like the way it ended. It felt like the month leading up to my birthday and then it’s finally here and then remembered, I’m older now. I don’t get stuff. Ugh. I sure miss getting stuff. Yeah, with that finale, I felt like I deserved stuff then got squat. Oh well. I still love watching every season. Even though Jerry is basically a mean person who cares nothing about anyone’s feelings, and I guess you could say that for Elaine, George, and Kramer too, so I guess the series finale DID make sense. I still felt jipped. But the coziness of watching those episodes also creates that comforting feeling. So if it helps relax you, ease your anxiety, pass some time, I think bingeing is fun. I can’t just watch different episodes of various shows. Makes me dizzy. Like when I suddenly stop taking my antidepressant. Ugh! I do NOT suggest THAT 2 week trip to hell. Oh the BRAIN ZAPS! Yikes! Now movies are a different topic because this is already way too long. But I can tell you that I made yesterday “Star Wars Day”! I made it thru episodes 4, 5, 6, and 1. I think when I’m done here I’ll start episode 2. Yeah, at this point if I run out of emails or payment options I may be messaging you for your password. Cool? Til next time! Happy Bingeing! Stay home and safe and stuff!
